Starting January 1, 2025, Ferrum Packaging AG, a prominent manufacturer of can seamers in the food and drink packaging industry, alongside KHS GmbH, will acquire H.F. Meyer Maschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG. H.F. Meyer excels in specialized canning technology segments such as can turners, rinsers, and vacuum bridges, bringing invaluable expertise that complements the strengths of Ferrum and KHS. Notably, H.F. Meyer will maintain its status as an independent entity within the consortium.
Beat Bühlmann, chairman of the board of directors at Ferrum Group, highlights the advantages this acquisition brings to customers from all participating companies. “H.F. Meyer’s special expertise gives us a significant wealth of know-how that we’ll be able to apply to joint further developments. The integral approach and pooled knowledge of the three companies will enable us to provide even more precise, customized equipment and solutions from a single source.”
Strategic Enhancement of Technological Expertise
By incorporating H.F. Meyer into the Ferrum Group, a specialized competence center for canning technology will emerge, focused on developing innovative systems and sustainable solutions for food and drink packaging. “The aim is to supply the best canning lines in the world. In working together with H.F. Meyer and Ferrum, the efficiency and quality of our plant machinery will continuously increase,” states Martin Resch, managing director of the KHS Group.
H.F. Meyer, based in Schleswig-Holstein with an additional facility in Bavaria, employs around 100 skilled professionals. Over the years, the company has established an excellent reputation in providing canning technology tailored to the food and drink packaging sector. “We’ll of course continue to be a reliable partner to our customers and shall meet all obligations up to and including service with the customary quality,” Bühlmann adds.
