Sustainability-driven flexible packaging expert, Eco Flexibles, has announced its nomination in two distinct categories at the prestigious 2026 Digital Labels & Packaging Awards.
These nominations showcase Eco Flexibles’ ongoing commitment to innovation within sustainable flexible packaging and digital printing technologies. The company is recognized in the following categories:
- Best Use of Water-Based Inks for Booja-Booja Hot Chocolate
- Stand Up Pouches for Conscious Brands: Just. Health Powders
The Digital Labels & Packaging Awards honor excellence across the digital print and packaging landscape, celebrating significant advancements in innovation, sustainability, and print quality.
Acknowledging Sustainable Digital Packaging Innovations
The entry for Booja-Booja Hot Chocolate exemplifies Eco Flexibles’ ability to merge high-end shelf appeal with recyclable packaging solutions. Utilizing the Fujifilm Jet Press FP790, the mono-material polypropylene pouch was crafted with CMYK+W water-based inks and features a matte metallic finish, achieving an upscale look while adhering to recyclability standards.
Designed for the introduction of Booja-Booja’s award-winning hot chocolate line, the digitally printed pouch supports efficient short production runs ideal for sampling and trade presentations while ensuring vibrant colors and a cohesive brand image. The precise ink placement and inline drying capabilities of the FP790 delivered the necessary high-resolution print quality for this artisan confectionery.
Innovative Recyclable Paper Pouch Recognized
Eco Flexibles’ second nomination for the Just. Health Powders line from Conscious Brands falls under the Stand Up Pouches category. This initiative marks the potential introduction of the UK’s first digitally printed recyclable paper pouch for health powders, achieved through water-based inkjet technology.
This high-barrier paper stand-up pouch was engineered to facilitate the brand’s shift away from rigid plastic containers, without sacrificing protection, functionality, or aesthetic appeal. The barrier paper design effectively prevents moisture from compromising the powder’s quality and longevity, while maintaining the necessary structural integrity for stand-up performance.
Printed at a high resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi using CMYK+W water-based inks on the Fujifilm Jet Press FP790, these pouches harmonize recyclability with premium print quality, featuring crisp text and intricate details.
Pioneering the Future of Sustainable Flexible Packaging
These nominations illustrate Eco Flexibles’ solid reputation for award-winning advancements in digitally printed flexible packaging, especially concerning recyclable materials and water-based inkjet technologies.
Simon Buswell, Sales & Marketing Director at Eco Flexibles, commented, “We’re thrilled to be recognized in two categories at this year’s Digital Labels & Packaging Awards.
