Carccu®, a packaging materials manufacturer based in Sastalama, has recently achieved the prestigious Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) forest certification in April 2023. This certification promotes the use of sustainably managed forests throughout the production chain, ensuring ecological, social, and economic standards are met. In addition to forest management, the certification also covers wood handling, processing, and the final products.

Rare PEFC Label Found on Paper Packaging

The presence of the PEFC label on our paper packaging signifies that the materials originate from a PEFC-certified forest. This label provides both consumers and businesses with the assurance that our packaging is made from wood sourced from responsibly managed forests that adhere to sustainable forestry principles.

Our journey to obtain the PEFC certification began last year as part of our commitment to achieve ISO 9001 and ISO 14 001 quality system certifications.

“The PEFC certification sets us apart, as only a few packaging manufacturers have achieved it,” says Lasse Borg, Managing Director of Carccu. “This external audit certification serves as proof of our responsible practices. We strive to expand the presence of the PEFC label on more of our products and continue sourcing PEFC-certified raw materials.”
