Global sustainable packaging leader BioPak has unveiled its Impact Certificate for 2024. This report highlights data from the B Corp’s profit-driven initiative, the Give Back Fund, which is dedicated to environmental preservation and community support both in Australia and worldwide.

Since 2012, BioPak has consistently donated 5% of its profits and allocated £2,703,081 to environmental and social charities. This investment has catalyzed meaningful change, and the company’s latest figures reveal remarkable achievements for 2024.

Noteworthy highlights from BioPak’s 2024 Impact Certificate include:

  • Planting and rescuing 51,129 trees in collaboration with Ecologi, Rainforest Rescue, and Greenfleet.
  • Providing 300,032 meals through OzHarvest and KiwiHarvest.
  • Positively affecting 216,490 lives with initiatives from MedEarth.
  • Avoiding the disposal of 24,455,772 kilograms of conventional plastic.

Discussing the Impact Certificate, BioPak Gary Smith emphasized the importance of purpose-driven values in business for fostering positive change.

“At BioPak, we believe we have an obligation to preserve and protect the environment and give back to the communities we live in. It’s all part of being a certified B Corp and a socially and environmentally responsible business,” said Smith.

“Our Give Back Fund allows us to continue to live by BioPak’s core values of People, Planet, and Profit—where we are committed to the highest standards of social and environmental performance and public transparency. In other words, we’re a for-profit organisation using business as a force for good for a better tomorrow. We hope that this purpose-driven approach can inspire other companies within the food and drink packaging industry, and beyond, to adopt a similar model.”
