Most recently, Brent served as the Managing Director of the Woolworths Food Company, overseeing extensive food production and service operations. He was instrumental in developing private label brands and sustainable packaging solutions. His strong track record of driving innovation indicates his commitment to collaborating with suppliers and customers throughout the food system.

Upon his appointment, the BioPak Board recognized this leadership transition as a pivotal moment for the company.

“We are delighted to welcome Guy Brent to BioPak as CEO. His proven people-first leadership approach, strategic focus, and track record of delivering outstanding commercial performance make him exceptionally well-placed to lead the business through its next phase of growth,” stated the BioPak Board.

In his new role, Brent will lead the company’s strategic growth, innovation, and operational excellence. He will also focus on purpose-led advocacy to accelerate circular solutions and drive systemic change.

The next chapter for BioPak will emphasize scaling and enhancing its sustainability leadership on a global scale, while remaining dedicated to its founding mission: building regenerative, circular solutions that give materials new life at every stage.

Commenting on his new appointment, Guy Brent expressed enthusiasm about joining the organization during this significant growth phase.

“I’m honoured and incredibly proud to be appointed CEO of BioPak,” said Brent.

“BioPak’s genuine commitment to sustainability and its track record of leading positive change in the packaging industry is truly compelling. It’s rare to find a business where purpose and performance are so closely aligned, driving strong growth; I am eager to capitalise on this momentum.”

“With a robust foundation, clear purpose, and significant opportunities ahead, I look forward to collaborating with the team to deliver long-term value for our customers, partners, and broader stakeholders, while reinforcing the founding values, entrepreneurial spirit, and unwavering commitment to protecting the environment.”

Brent succeeds former CEO and Co-Founder, Gary Smith, who has concluded his role as CEO. Gary’s vision and leadership have been pivotal in driving BioPak’s business performance to date.

Founded in 2006 by Co-Founders Gary Smith and Richard Fine, BioPak was established on the belief that business can be a force for good. Today, it stands as a globally recognised leader in sustainable food and drink packaging, aiding businesses in transitioning to circular, low-impact solutions.
