Victor Pizza, with the robust backing of a seven-figure funding package from Bank of Scotland, is set to relocate from its current 12,000 sq ft site in Possilpark, Glasgow, to a newly acquired 24,500 sq ft facility in Coatbridge. This strategic move, positioned just east of Glasgow’s city center in North Lanarkshire, marks a significant expansion for the company.

The upgraded facility will more than double Victor Pizza’s production capacity. Additionally, it will allow the introduction of new product lines, including High Protein Pizza, Pizza Wraps, and Mini Buffet Pizza Bites. Furthermore, this expansion will create 17 new job opportunities, bringing the total workforce to 54 employees.

Established in the 1970s as a small family bakery, Victor Pizza has since evolved into a £5 million business. In its formative years, the team received a unique request from a local Italian fish and chip shop owner for a pizza that could be fried. This nostalgic endeavor led to the creation of Pizza Fritto, now a beloved chip shop favorite across Scotland, commonly referred to as pizza crunch or deep-fried pizza.

Since then, Victor Pizza has focused on creating healthier pizza options. Collaborating with Donnie Maclean from the Scottish food brand Eat Balanced, the company developed a ‘nutritionally balanced pizza’ with guidance from health experts at the University of Glasgow.

The result was a multi-award-winning pizza crafted with iodine-rich seaweed, a natural prebiotic fiber in the base, and vitamin-packed red pepper paste integrated into the sauce. Today, these healthier pizzas are distributed across the UK to schools and sports venues, offering nutritious choices without sacrificing taste.

Looking to the future, sustainability is prominently on the agenda. The new facility is being prepared for solar panel installation, while Victor Pizza collaborates with Scottish Enterprise on initiatives aimed at reducing food waste and lowering carbon emissions.

“We’ve come a long way from frying pizzas in the back of a Glasgow bakery. Now, we’re sending out hundreds of pallets every month to customers all over the UK,” commented Anne Marie Cairney, co-founder at Victor Pizza.

“We’ve built something more than a factory. It’s a family. And that’s the difference people feel when they work with us. This new chapter in Coatbridge gives us space to grow while staying grounded in the values we started with.”
