Babcock Wanson, an industrial process heating equipment and solution specialist, has recently provided Crisp Malt with a new TPC-B Thermal Fluid Heater, replacing the existing Babcock Wanson heater that has been in use for an impressive 30 years!
Crisp Malt is a British malting company founded in 1870. They supply world-renowned breweries and distilleries with high-quality English, Scottish, and Organic malts, using a combination of traditional and modern malting techniques at their sites in England and Scotland. The drying of the malt is a crucial process, and a Babcock Wanson Thermal Fluid Heater has been performing this task at their Fakenham site for the past 30 years. As it had served its purpose well, they looked to Babcock Wanson for a replacement.
Babcock Wanson recommended the new TPC 6000B Thermal Fluid Heater, which has the highest output and efficiency in the TPC-B range. The TPC 6000B has fully automatic coil-type, multi-pass heaters and comes with integrated burners, control systems, and safety devices for optimal distribution of heat and monitoring of fluid flow, ensuring long thermal fluid and system life and the highest level of safety.
The new TPC 6000B Thermal Fluid Heater offers several advantages over its predecessor, including improved controls, Human Machine Interface, overall efficiency, and a significant reduction in emissions to comply with current regulations. Babcock Wanson supplied the TPC 6000B Thermal Fluid Heater, along with new pumps and valves.
During the production of the new heater, Crisp Malt utilized Babcock Wanson’s Thermal Fluid Heating system rental service, where two “plug and play” TPC 2000B Thermal Fluid Heaters were delivered to the site and set up by Babcock Wanson’s experienced commissioning engineers to ensure production.
A full-service agreement was implemented following the installation of the new heaters.
