Parker Hannifin’s Bioscience Filtration experts are gearing up to engage and educate young individuals at the prominent STEMFest event next month. From July 4 to 6, the team from Parker Bioscience Filtration’s Birtley site in County Durham, UK, will be showcasing their expertise at VERTU Motors Arena in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Parker’s dedicated STEM ambassadors will be leading interactive and enjoyable challenges and activities, providing young attendees with valuable insights into STEM careers and filtration technology, as well as the work carried out at the Birtley site. Richard Purdy, a project engineer and STEM ambassador at Parker Bioscience Filtration, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “We were thrilled to participate in last year’s STEMFest and thoroughly enjoyed engaging with young individuals and educators, discussing our work and the exciting and rewarding careers available in manufacturing and engineering. This year, we have even more thrilling plans to deliver interactive activities that will captivate attendees.”

Parker’s involvement in STEMFest underlines its steadfast commitment to STEM education and support for the local community. The company recognizes its integral role in inspiring young minds to ponder their future studies and careers, showcasing how engineering breakthroughs can positively impact our world.

STEMFest 2023 presents an avenue for over 40 businesses to take part in hands-on activities, while showcasing the diverse range of careers and job opportunities within the STEM sector. The event is expected to attract over 3,000 students aged between 10 and 13 from schools across North East England.

Furthermore, the Parker team will demonstrate innovative solutions for food and drink production, showcasing the practical applications of Parker’s cutting-edge technology. This will be the second time that Parker Bioscience Filtration attends STEMFest, following their debut at the event in 2022. This year, the team will be located in the Manufacturing Zone.

In addition to their involvement in STEMFest, Parker Bioscience Filtration’s STEM ambassadors actively promote STEM subjects and careers in schools throughout North East England. The company also collaborates with local universities to further strengthen STEM education initiatives.
