ALDI Ireland has recently announced four significant new contracts with Irish-based suppliers, amounting to over €26 million in value. These agreements further reinforce ALDI’s longstanding commitment to supporting its network of more than 330 Irish suppliers, as the company expects to invest over €1.1 billion this year alone, ensuring the availability of high-quality Irish produce across its 160-store network in Ireland.

The four suppliers, some of whom have been in collaboration with ALDI for more than two decades, specialize in fruit and vegetables, dairy products, and coffee. These contracts will not only benefit the suppliers but also open up new opportunities for them to access international markets.

Lakeland Dairies, based in County Cavan, has secured a new contract worth €15.3 million annually with ALDI. Under this agreement, Lakeland Dairies will continue supplying milk and dairy products, including the popular Clonbawn fresh and light milk, to ALDI stores nationwide.

Clandeboye Estate Yogurts, an established partner of ALDI for over ten years, has signed a new two-year deal worth €9.9 million (£8.6 million). In addition to supplying ALDI Ireland with granola and Greek-style craft yogurts, this contract marks the entry of Clandeboye Estate Yogurts into the UK market. Expanding internationally is expected to boost the supplier’s sales volumes by more than 450% and create additional jobs, supporting its existing workforce of 20 employees.

donnelly fresh produce, a family-run business, has been a reliable supplier to ALDI for over twenty years. The recent agreement ensures that they will continue supplying ALDI with cauliflowers for the next two years, along with various other vegetables, citrus fruits, salads, berries, and produce. The contract will generate over €1 million in revenue for donnelly fresh produce, contributing to the company’s growth.

Velo Coffee Roasters, a former winner of the Grow with ALDI program, has also secured a new contract. This contract allows them to introduce a new product, the El Salvador blend, to ALDI’s shelves in Ireland. The El Salvador blend, which has been a recipient of the prestigious Blas Taste Awards, brings a unique taste experience to customers.

Colin Breslin, Managing Director of Buying and Services at ALDI Ireland, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting Irish producers and helping them access new markets. He emphasized the longstanding relationships ALDI has with its suppliers and the company’s dedication to helping them sustain and expand their businesses. Through these new contracts, ALDI reaffirms its partnership and investment in Irish suppliers, which not only helps them create job opportunities but also enables them to tap into untapped markets.

ALDI looks forward to continued collaboration with these suppliers, as well as the rest of its extensive network, to deliver exceptional products and uphold its commitment to supporting Irish businesses.
