Ireland’s leading ready meal brand, Fit Foods, has unveiled its new Mini Meals line in 450 Tesco locations across the UK, catering to evolving consumer eating habits.

This innovative, high-fibre, high-protein range is designed for those moments when appetite is smaller, reflecting the lifestyle shifts from hectic schedules, single-person households, and the increasing influence of GLP‑1 medications on portion preferences.

Following a successful launch in Ireland, the Mini Meals range is now accessible to UK consumers as Fit Foods continues to expand its market presence. The brand, which belongs to Monaghan-based DMC Foods, has quickly gained traction in the UK, surpassing competitors like Gym Kitchen and MyProtein in sales since its debut last year.

The Mini Meals were developed in response to the growing need for satisfying yet nutritionally complete options that align with increasingly fragmented eating habits. As more individuals find themselves dining alone or pursuing lighter meals due to irregular work hours, smaller meal formats are becoming significant growth contributors within the ready-meal segment.

This range is aimed at shoppers with reduced appetite, including young professionals, older adults living solo, and those seeking portion sizes that correspond with lifestyle or health-related appetite changes, particularly in connection with GLP‑1 medications.

“Consumers are seeking more flexibility from their food choices, prompting an evolution in the ready meals category,” stated Gillian Clarke, marketing director at DMC Foods. “Not every meal occasion necessitates a full-sized dish, yet people still desire satisfying food experiences. Mini Meals were created with this shift in mind.”

Each Mini Meal is designed to provide a high-protein, high-fibre option in a convenient size, ensuring that it fits seamlessly into consumers’ routines. The range contains no artificial colors or flavor enhancers, reinforcing Fit Foods’ commitment to quality, convenience, and everyday nutrition.

In addition to the Mini Meals, Tesco will also feature Fit Foods’ Lasagne Mac & Cheese for the first time—a comforting hybrid dish that has swiftly become one of the brand’s best-sellers. Since its introduction earlier this year, it has emerged as the second most popular stock keeping unit (SKU) in the Fit Foods lineup, resulting in a remarkable 300% boost in production.

Gillian added, “Both launches illustrate our dedication to crafting meals that seamlessly integrate into people’s daily lives while providing the flavor and quality that Fit Foods is known for.”

Fit Foods’ offerings are prepared at the DMC Foods facility in Monaghan, where the family-operated manufacturer combines expert production techniques with high-quality ingredients. The launch of the Mini Meals signifies another milestone in the company’s expansion within the UK market.
