US firm Charcuterie Artisans has been acquired by an investment fund managed by Industrial Opportunity Partners.

In a recent statement, Charcuterie Artisans, the parent company of Creminelli Fine Meats and Daniele, announced that IOP is making a “significant new investment” into the business.

The financial terms of the deal and investment remain undisclosed.

Furthermore, the company indicated that the investment will be directed towards “expanding capacity, strengthening customer partnerships, and driving innovation.”

Charcuterie Artisans markets a variety of Italian-style meats under the well-respected Creminelli Fine Meats and Del Duca brands.

Jeff Tripician, previously an executive at Niman Ranch and Perdue Farms, has been appointed as Charcuterie Artisans’ new CEO. He transitions to this role from Dutch cultivated-meat firm, Meatable.

Founded in 1945, Daniele is renowned for its specialty meats, including prosciutto and salami.

Meanwhile, Creminelli Fine Meats, established in 2007, specializes in providing charcuterie and protein snacks for both retail and foodservice clientele.

In 2020, the two companies merged, with the support of another US private-equity firm, Entrepreneurial Equity Partners.

Cristiano Creminelli, founder of Creminelli Fine Meats, stated yesterday (9 September): “With IOP’s support and our experienced leadership team, we can continue to strengthen relationships, ensure supply, and bring new innovations to the category.”

Based in Mapleville, Rhode Island, Charcuterie Artisans operates nearly 700,000 square feet between its headquarters and an additional facility in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Commenting on his new position, Tripician said: “This is a natural fit for me, having been both a customer and a vendor with these companies in past roles.”

“That experience gives me a unique perspective on how to deliver what matters most: consistent supply, trusted relationships, and products that help our customers succeed.”
