Roquette is an international company that supplies food and pharmaceutical ingredients. Its food operation provides proteins, fibers, polyols, and starches to a diverse range of food manufacturers. Recently, the company has opened a new innovation center in Europe, investing €4.5 million into a 150-hectare plant, embedded in the company’s Research and Development global network. Roquette believes innovation is part of its DNA and is now aiming to be a “trusted partner” for solving major global challenges in the food industry, such as population growth, aging, and demand for new, healthier, and sustainable diets. The facility includes a demonstration kitchen, sensory analysis laboratory, labs, and cutting-edge equipment, providing formulators with a vast range of capabilities to foster innovation and accelerate the go-to-market of new products. The food sectors, including dairy, savoury, confectionery, bakery, beverage, or specialized nutrition, will all benefit from the new center. Roquette is known for providing sustainable and versatile plant-based protein alternatives, such as pea protein, and using fiber in a wide range of products to address the fiber gap in our diets. The food innovation center focuses on collaboration between food scientists and culinary experts, providing a new state-of-the-art facility with high-moisture extrusion (HME), ultra-high temperatures (UHT) line, and tableting press simulator, to facilitate knowledge and know-how development, sharing, and capture.
