Lithuania’s seafood processing sector is poised for a significant transformation as Nordian Group and Norvelita prepare to transition into private-equity ownership.

INVL Asset Management, headquartered in Vilnius, has finalized agreements to acquire these two businesses. According to the prospective new owner, these seafood firms collectively generate an impressive revenue of €200 million ($231.8 million).

Nordian Group operates as a fish processor and wholesaler, primarily supplying retail chains across Lithuania. In the previous fiscal year, the company reported revenue of €46.3 million and employs over 170 individuals.

On the other hand, Norvelita is the larger entity of the two, focusing primarily on salmon production with approximately 85% of its output exported to western European markets. In 2025, Norvelita recorded revenues amounting to €152.7 million and boasts a workforce of 650 employees.

Nerijus Drobavičius, a partner with INVL’s Private Equity Fund II, expressed the firm’s intentions to establish “a strong, internationally competitive fish processing group.”

He further elaborated, “The solid export business and expertise of Norvelita will align perfectly with the growth strategy of Nordian Group. We identify significant potential for synergies between the two companies, particularly in areas like joint procurement of raw materials and the development of new, high-value-added products within the EU market. This investment positions us in a burgeoning sector where the demand for premium products is on the rise, enabling us to offer consumers superior choices.”

The founding members of both firms will retain minority stakes and are committed to continuing their roles in enhancing the value of the group, as noted in their announcement.

Ramūnas Gaižauskas, founder and principal shareholder of Nordian Group, remarked, “We have established a robust fresh fish supply operation within the Baltic States. We are now poised to pursue our next phase of growth. With the backing of our new partners, we aim to expedite our ambitious expansion initiatives, bolster our presence in export markets, explore new opportunities in the fish and seafood sectors, and generate even greater value for our clients, workforce, and stakeholders.”

Jordanas Kenstavičius, founder and main shareholder of Norvelita, indicated that this acquisition would “create opportunities for further investments in production capabilities and workforce development, while allowing the company to sustain its growth trajectory by upholding quality and earning customer trust.”
