Day three of the UK’s premier freight & supply chain event dedicated to skills, apprenticeships and future careers, with schools and colleges touring the show floor to connect students with industry leaders
Multimodal 2026, the UK’s leading freight transport, logistics and supply chain management exhibition, has today announced that the final day of its landmark three-day show will be dedicated entirely to inspiring the next generation of logistics and supply chain professionals.
Taking place on 2nd July 2026 at the NEC Birmingham, day three will be a landmark occasion for schools, students, and educators, placing careers, apprenticeships, upskilling and industry education front and centre.
As part of a major skills initiative, school and college students will tour the exhibition floor, meeting the UK’s leading trade associations and key exhibitors. Far from a passive experience, the day has been purpose-designed to forge genuine connections between young people and the industry professionals who want to hire them.
An Exceptional Opportunity to Explore a Booming Sector
The UK logistics and supply chain sector is one of the country’s most diverse, innovative and fast-growing industries, and the final day at Multimodal 2026 gives students the rare chance to see it up close. The programme has been specifically designed for schools and will help students make meaningful connections between their current studies and real future career pathways.
Attendees can expect:
- Interactive workshops bringing the world of logistics to life, demonstrating how subjects including maths, geography, STEM and business directly underpin global supply chains
- Inspiring talks from current apprentices and graduates, sharing their personal journeys and what drew them to a career in logistics
- Employer-led sessions showcasing the huge variety of roles across the sector, from operations and sustainability to technology, engineering and management
- Direct access to HR professionals discussing the skills, knowledge and behaviours employers are actively seeking in young people today
“The logistics sector is crying out for talented, passionate young people. Day three at Multimodal 2026 is our most ambitious attempt yet to bridge that gap, bringing students face-to-face with apprentices, graduates, HR leaders and industry innovators who can show them what a career in logistics really looks like. This isn’t just a careers fair; it’s a full day of immersive discovery,” said Robert Jervis, Event Director, Multimodal.
Guided Tours Connecting Students with Industry
A defining feature of the final day will be the schools and college initiative. These structured, guided tours will take groups of students through the exhibition, facilitating meaningful conversations with some of the sector’s most respected trade associations and exhibitors.
Participating organisations include Logistics UK, BIFA, UKWA, CILT and the Cold Chain Federation, among many others, all of whom will be actively engaging with young people and sharing insight into the breadth of opportunity within the industry.
The schools and colleges initiative will transform the traditional exhibition visit into a dynamic, structured learning experience, ensuring no student leaves without a clearer picture of how logistics could shape their future.
Part of the Biggest Multimodal Yet
Day three sits within an already record-breaking event. Following a 2025 show that saw a 4% rise in visitor numbers, Multimodal 2026 is set to be the biggest and most connected edition in its history. Running from 30th June to 2nd July 2026 at the NEC Birmingham, the event serves as the flagship of UK Logistics Week 2026, uniting Warehouse, Yard, eDX and
The Road Transport Expo (at NAEC Stoneleigh) to create the annual hub for logistics innovation and collaboration.
This year’s show also features a brand-new, purpose-built event app which is fully web-based and requiring no download, which gives every attendee live updates, conference schedules, meeting request tools and an exhibitor directory. Schools and educators attending day three will be able to pre-plan their visit and schedule sessions directly through the app.
The conference programme itself spans four theatres over three days and features contributions from leading voices from across the industry in an engaging and packed programme
