Jassine Ouali is leaving Lidl GB after nearly 18 months, having served as both chief operating officer and chief customer officer during his tenure.
He initially joined Lidl GB from Lidl Germany, where he spent almost two years in the chief operating officer role. As of now, no announcement has been made regarding his successor.
Ouali confirmed his departure in a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, where he commended many of his colleagues.
“Today marks my last day at Lidl GB and it’s hard to put into words how much this chapter has meant to me,” Ouali stated.
“After one and a half incredibly intense, rewarding, and transformative years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Customer Officer, I’m now moving on to a new challenge: taking on the role of Chief Customer Officer at Lidl France.”
“These past 18 months have been the most demanding of my career but also the most fulfilling. I’ve grown as a leader and as a person. And more importantly: we have achieved exceptional results together, in record time.”
“To my teams: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You were the heartbeat of everything we built, and your dedication, spirit, and resilience inspired me every single day.”
In concluding his message, Ouali expressed gratitude towards several colleagues and thanked Lidl GB chief executive Ryan McDonnell and the retailer’s board.
“You are one of the strongest leaders I’ve ever worked with,” he remarked about McDonnell.
“Thank you for your trust, your guidance, and for creating the space for me to lead boldly.”
“To all my colleagues on the Board and at our international HQ: You are passionate, inspiring people. I’ll miss working alongside you and learning from you.”
“And finally a heartfelt thank you to all of our colleagues across the business: Thank you for showing up every day with such pride and purpose. You are the true heroes of our success.”
