Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery, a prominent US-based cheese supplier, has appointed Kevin Pieh as its permanent CEO.
Kevin Pieh, who joined Ellsworth in 2022, has been serving as the interim CEO since September, following the departure of Paul Bauer.
Before stepping into the interim CEO role, Pieh held the position of CFO at Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery.
Commenting on Pieh’s appointment, Board Chair Warren Johnson stated that the company “will greatly benefit” from Pieh’s leadership and “strong experience” in cooperatives and dairy.
Johnson emphasized, “He has proven to have strong financial and management acumen during his tenure as CFO and is well-positioned to step into the CEO role. The board is excited for the continual growth trajectory of the cooperative with Kevin’s leadership.”
Earlier in his career, Pieh worked for the US dairy group Land O’Lakes, further enhancing his industry expertise.
Discussing his new role, Pieh stated, “Ellsworth Creamery is an incredible organization with a bright future and potential for strong growth. I’m excited to represent our farmer-owners and lead our outstanding team of employees.”
With over 110 years of operation, Ellsworth is owned by 180 dairy farm families. The creamery operates three manufacturing facilities throughout Wisconsin. The Ellsworth facility is notable for producing “all-natural white cheddar cheese curds.” Meanwhile, the Menomonie facility produces more than 80 varieties of “small-batch artisan cheeses.”
Additionally, the plant in New London specializes in crafting “customized” cheese products for foodservice, retail, and manufacturer clients.
