Ecotone, known for its popular brands like Clipper Teas, Kallø, and Mrs Crimbles, has appointed Bryan Martins as the new UK CEO.
Martins takes over from outgoing Chief Executive Officer Emma Vass, who has successfully led Ecotone UK for the past seven years. Vass will transition to a new role at Gu Desserts.
With over 20 years of leadership experience in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector across the UK and Europe, Martins is well-prepared for this role. His extensive background includes a notable tenure at Danone, managing widely recognized dairy and bottled water brands, including Evian and Activia.
Martins joined Ecotone in 2018 as the UK Marketing Director. At that time, he was entrusted with strategic oversight and leadership of the UK brand and category teams. Subsequently, he advanced to become the Chief Marketing Officer for the Ecotone group, where he focused on driving growth in core categories and fostering innovation within the European portfolio, specifically with Clipper Teas and Bjorg.
As the second largest market within the Ecotone Group, the UK aims to achieve double-digit growth over the next five years, supported by an ambitious business plan.
“I’m excited for this new opportunity within the Group and completely energised for this mission ahead of us to accelerate our growth and impact on the food industry,” remarked Martins.
“Ecotone UK is brilliantly positioned for future growth, and we will continue to lead the charge to inspire people towards sustainable, healthy food through our fantastic brands.”
“2025 is already shaping up to be an exciting year for all our brands – particularly Clipper Teas, which is already the fastest-growing everyday tea brand, and Kallø, which is leading innovation across multiple categories including snacks, stocks, and cereals.”
Christophe Barnouin, the Group CEO of Ecotone, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are excited to welcome Bryan to the role of UK CEO for Ecotone. His tenacity, commercial insight, and creativity make him the ideal candidate to drive the UK business forward.”
