BrewDog recently announced significant leadership changes as CEO James Arrow departs the company, having assumed the role in May 2024 following the departure of co-founder James Watt. The company has appointed James Taylor, who has served as chief financial officer since November 2023, as Arrow’s successor.

While the reasons for Arrow’s departure have not been disclosed, the transition underscores BrewDog’s ongoing evolution.

In tandem with Arrow’s exit, Lauren Carrol has been elevated to the position of chief operating officer after more than two years as chief marketing officer. Her promotion reflects her exceptional contributions to the company’s success.

“James Taylor has been an instrumental leader at BrewDog, steering the financial strategy and laying a strong foundation for profitable growth,” stated BrewDog chair Allan Leighton. “His deep understanding of our business, coupled with his proven track record in operational excellence, makes him the ideal choice to guide BrewDog into its next chapter. I would also like to congratulate Lauren for her promotion, testament to her fantastic work and proven track record during her time at BrewDog. Finally, I would like to thank James Arrow for his contribution to BrewDog since he arrived in 2023 and wish him every success in the future.”

James Taylor brings extensive financial and strategic expertise to his new role. He has overseen BrewDog’s finance operations during a pivotal period of transformation within the organization.

Before joining BrewDog, Taylor held senior leadership positions at Mayborn, the childcare company known for brands like Tommee Tippee, GHD, and Anya Hindmarch. His diverse experience positions him well to lead BrewDog forward.

Lauren Carrol joined BrewDog in 2018 from Stork and has been pivotal in launching popular new beer offerings, including Wingman, Black Heart, and Shore Leave. Her innovative approach has greatly enhanced the brand’s portfolio.

Headquartered in Ellon, Scotland, BrewDog employs over 2,700 individuals and operates more than 120 bars, hotels, and venues globally. The company has breweries in Ellon, Columbus (Ohio), Berlin (Germany), and Brisbane (Australia).
