Private-equity backed Rise Baking Company has acquired Table Talk Pies, a US business with a century of experience in producing snack and dessert pies. The acquisition provides Rise Baking with access to three additional manufacturing facilities, boosting its total to 20 facilities across the US and Canada.
Table Talk Pies, based in Worcester, Massachusetts, has been supplying its freshly made pies to retail and foodservice outlets in the US, as well as exporting to Canada, Mexico, and Puerto Rico since 1924. With over 300 employees, the family-owned business has a strong reputation in the pie industry.
Isaac Long, the president of Table Talk Pies, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that Rise Baking’s dedication to innovation and quality align perfectly with the values of Table Talk. The deal is seen as a win-win opportunity for both companies to achieve continued success in the future.
Rise Baking Company, known for producing a wide range of bakery products including cookies, cakes, and breads, has been expanding its portfolio through strategic acquisitions. In addition to Table Talk Pies, Rise Baking has acquired brands like Brill, South Coast Baking, and the Best Maid Cookie Company.
CEO Brian Zellmer highlighted Rise Baking’s commitment to growth in the pie industry, citing previous acquisitions such as Brill in 2021 and the frozen bakery division of Dawn Foods in 2020. The recent purchase of two pie-making plants from Wonder Brands further reinforces Rise Baking’s position in the market.
