Rich Products, a US-based food and beverage company, is set to invest $27m in expanding its production facility in Tennessee. This expansion project in Morristown will create 51 new manufacturing jobs, bringing the total number of employees in the state to 1,400. The focus of the expansion is on increasing output in the bakery segment, particularly in cake and cupcake production.

According to a statement from the company, the expansion will add 2,400 square feet of space to the facility, supporting the growing bakery business that serves national and regional grocery and club retailers. Construction is expected to be completed by September, with hiring commencing in June.

Kevin Spratt, the president of Rich Products’ business in the US and Canada, highlighted the significance of the expansion, stating, “Not only are we expanding our team and creating jobs, but we’re adding production capacity to meet the increased demand for our cake and cupcake products. It is a win-win for the community, our customers, and consumers.”

Rich Products already has a strong presence in Tennessee, operating multiple manufacturing facilities, including two plants in Morristown employing 650 people. The company, founded in 1945 and headquartered in Buffalo, New York, operates in over 100 countries and has approximately 13,000 employees worldwide. Their product portfolio includes items like pizzas, icing and sweet starters, drinks, desserts, and bakery products under brands such as Bettercreme, On Top, Versatile, and Ice Hot.

In addition to the Tennessee expansion, Rich Products recently expanded a factory in Brownsville, Texas, investing over US$100m to support the production of appetizer products. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to growth and innovation in the food and beverage industry.
