Reser’s Fine Foods, a US-based deli salad maker, has recently acquired St. Clair Foods, a local peer specializing in refrigerated deli salads, frozen side dishes, and frozen entrees for the foodservice industry. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed by Reser’s, which is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon.
Following the acquisition, St. Clair Foods will operate as a division of Reser’s Fine Foods. The founder of St. Clair Foods, Oscar Edmonds III, will transition into an advisory role, while his children, Brian Edmonds and Lauren Edmonds, will continue to lead the division. Reser’s stated that the deal will open up new regional, channel, and product opportunities while supporting St. Clair’s current trajectory for growth.
Reser’s selected St. Clair as a partner due to the shared values of being family-owned businesses with strong product portfolios. Mark Reser, CEO of Reser’s Fine Foods, highlighted St. Clair Foods’ successful history in producing fresh refrigerated and frozen foods nationwide. St. Clair Foods operates out of 800 square feet of manufacturing space with a workforce of 350 employees. On the other hand, Reser’s distributes its range of products through supermarket, club store, and foodservice channels. The company’s portfolio includes well-known brands like Reser’s American Classics, Main St Bistro, Stonemill Kitchens, and Don Pancho. With 14 facilities in the US and Mexico and employing over 4,500 individuals, Reser’s is a significant player in the food and beverage industry.
