In a strategic move, US-based dairy producer Clover Sonoma has named John Coletta, formerly of Peet’s Coffee and Quiznos, as its new CEO.
Coletta, who brings with him 35 years of experience in the food, beverage, and foodservice sectors, will be stepping into the role next month, succeeding retiring CEO Ken Gott.
Clover Sonoma expressed its confidence in Coletta, stating that he will be instrumental in expanding the brand’s presence and ensuring that Californians have access to the unrivaled taste, premium quality, and nutritional excellence that Clover offers.
Marcus Benedetti, the company’s chairman of the board, praised Coletta, emphasizing his transformative leadership style and passion for people, community, and innovation. He is optimistic that under Coletta’s guidance, employees, family farm partners, and the Clover brand will flourish.
Headquartered in Petaluma, California, Clover Sonoma operates from over 20,000 acres in the northern part of the state, offering a range of dairy products including milk, butter, cream cheese, and eggs under the Clover brand.
Notably, two years ago, Alpina, a major dairy group in Latin America, acquired a majority stake in Clover Sonoma for around US$136m, solidifying their presence in the US market.
Coletta shared his enthusiasm for his new role, emphasizing Clover Sonoma’s industry leadership and deep community ties.
