GoodLife Foods, a Dutch vegetarian-foods maker, is set to acquire Spain’s Audens Group Solutions. The Barcelona-based Audens specializes in frozen ready-meals and Portuguese products. The acquisition amount has not been disclosed yet.
The deal will bring together two companies with complementary offerings, creating a powerhouse in the food sector across Europe. This strategic move is expected to enhance customer service, drive operational excellence, and fuel growth in existing and emerging markets.
Dirk Van de Walle, CEO at GoodLife Foods, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating, “We can create a powerhouse in the food sector that is primed for success.” The collaboration between the two entities aims to leverage their strengths to better serve customers and drive growth.
Audens CEO David Sala Coll also sees the transaction as an opportunity for growth and innovation. He believes that the combined entity will continue to deliver exceptional appetizer solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
GoodLife Foods, previously owned by Dutch investment firm Egeria, was acquired by UK private-equity house IK Partners last year. The company, formerly known as Izico Foods Group, rebranded as GoodLife Foods in 2019 after Egeria’s acquisition of UK-based Goodlife Foods in 2017.
Frederik Jacobs, a partner at IK, highlighted the strategic importance of the merger. He stated, “The combination of GoodLife Foods with Audens is a significant accelerator of our ambition to create a strong and structurally growing frozen food business across select savory categories.”
Overall, the acquisition represents a step towards internationalization and expansion in the fast-growing frozen food categories for GoodLife Foods. By joining forces with Audens, the company is poised to establish a formidable presence in the food and beverage industry trends, offering innovative frozen food snacks and meal components to customers across Europe.
