Ferrero has initiated the production of its Nutella Peanut spread in the United States, marking a significant milestone as it’s the first time a flagship product has been manufactured domestically. This strategic move highlights Ferrero’s commitment to expanding its presence in the food and beverage industry.

The Italian food conglomerate is setting up operations in Illinois, specifically in Franklin Park, just west of Chicago. This investment reflects Ferrero’s dedication to increasing local production capabilities, having allocated $75 million for this project. Chicago also hosts a Ferrero research and development facility, further underscoring its strategic importance.

Additionally, Ferrero operates another manufacturing site in Bloomington, located about 130 miles south of Chicago. This facility, which opened two years ago, focuses on chocolate processing and produces popular candy brands such as Crunch, 100 Grand, and Raisinets.

As trends in the food and drink business shift towards local production, Ferrero’s proactive approach positions it well within the evolving food and drink consumer trends landscape. The company continues to adapt and innovate, ensuring it meets the rising demands of consumers.
