Clemens Food's US Factory Acquired by Godshall's Quality Meats Food and Beverage Business

Godshall’s Quality Meats, a US-based turkey bacon producer, has acquired a factory from local pork supplier Clemens Food Group.

The acquisition of the plant in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, adds to the three existing sites owned by Godshall’s Quality Meats in the same state. These include the original facility in Telford, founded by Marvin Godshall in 1945, as well as two others in Souderton and Lebanon.

The processing plant, which spans 53,000 square feet and sits on ten acres, was previously operated by Clemens Food Group until late last year.

In a brief statement posted on LinkedIn, the company stated, “Our brand is continuing to expand in retail and foodservice. This additional facility will contribute to our growth and product innovation.”

The Emmaus factory, which is “tentatively scheduled to be operational by mid-2024”, will further support the company’s growth.

With Ron Godshall as the current president, Godshall’s Quality Meats also produces beef-based smoked bacon, including an Angus steak variety.

According to the company’s website, the acquisition of the Lebanon plant in 2005 was part of the purchase of meat processor Daniel Weaver Co. The plant has recently undergone expansion, now providing 150,000 square feet of floor space. Additionally, Godshall’s acquired Kutztown Bologna Company in 2001.

Mr. Godshall highlighted the benefits of the new facility, stating, “The addition of this facility allows us to continue expanding. Geographically, the purchase will provide Godshall’s with three production facilities and a centralized distribution center all within a two-hour drive of Philadelphia and the northeast corridor.”

Joel Nyce, the senior vice president at Godshall’s Quality Meats, expressed, “Growth of the Godshall’s brand has been spectacular over the past few years, making it a leader in the turkey and beef bacon categories. Adding this facility will allow us to continue bringing new innovation to life similar to the all-natural Angus Beef and Turkey Sausages we launched earlier this year.”
