Brazilian Investor Becomes New Majority Owner of Spanish Egg Company Hevo eggs Food and Beverage Business

Spain-based Hevo Group has recently undergone a significant ownership change, as Brazilian investor Ricardo Fario has acquired a majority stake in the company. This shift marks a pivotal moment for Hevo Group, previously owned by Madrid’s Cleon Capital and Austrian investors Yana Investment Partners.

While the exact financial terms remain undisclosed, reports from a Spanish media outlet suggest that the acquisition could be valued at approximately €120 million ($126.9 million). Fario, who founded one of Brazil’s largest egg producers, Granja Faria, is poised to drive Hevo Group’s growth in the dynamic food and beverage industry.

In a statement released on November 13, Hevo emphasized that this strategic shift aims to bolster the company’s foundation, enabling it to enhance both growth and quality while preserving the distinct identity and values of its various brands. The statement read: “In this new stage, Hevo Group will maintain its vision focused on offering products of the highest quality and a clear commitment to animal welfare and sustainability.”

Founded in 2022, Hevo is recognized as the second-largest egg producer in Spain, formed through the integration of established brands such as Dagu, Ous Roig, and Granja Agas. The company boasts an impressive annual output of over 80 million dozen eggs, supported by a workforce of nearly 500 employees and a capacity represented by a fleet of 3.8 million layers.

In August, Hevo expanded its national reach with the acquisition of Avicola Larraabe, an egg producer based in the Basque Country. This move aligns with Hevo’s strategy to solidify its position within the competitive food and drink business landscape.

As trends in the food and drink sector evolve, Hevo Group’s commitment to high-quality products, animal welfare, and sustainability will likely resonate more with conscious consumers, fulfilling market demands in the food and drink industry.
