Acomo, a Dutch food and drinks group, is set to acquire the nuts and dried fruits business Caldic Food Service and Retail (FSR) in northern Europe. The acquisition, which is part of Acomo’s strategic expansion into the Nordic markets, will complement its existing businesses, including Catz International and Tovano. The deal, aimed at enhancing Acomo’s position in the supply chain, is expected to close in the current third quarter.
This acquisition will enable Acomo to establish a local presence in the Nordic markets and offer new value-added services to customers. Allard Goldschmeding, Acomo’s CEO, highlighted the importance of combining trading with services like customer concept packing and roasting to meet growing customer demand. After the transaction, FSR will be rebranded as Delinuts Nordics and will collaborate with Delinuts Netherlands to explore new markets and opportunities.
Gustav Larsson, managing director of Caldic Nordics, expressed satisfaction with finding a new home for the Food Service and Retail team within Acomo. He emphasized Acomo’s expertise in trading and distributing food products as a key factor in allowing FSR’s dried fruits and nuts business to thrive. Patrick Wibroe, FSR’s commercial director, affirmed the decision to join Acomo, citing the company’s reputation and commitment to growing the nuts business in the Nordics.
This strategic acquisition reflects Acomo’s dedication to expanding its presence in the food and beverage industry. By joining forces with FSR, Acomo aims to strengthen its position in the Nordic markets and enhance its product portfolio. The synergies between the two companies will enable them to capitalize on emerging trends in the food and drink sector, positioning them for continued growth and success.
