1440 Foods Announces Opening of New Healthy Snack Plant in the US confectionery Food and Beverage Business 1440 Foods

1440 Foods, a US-based company, is set to open a new production facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to meet the growing demand for healthy snacks in the food and beverage industry. With an investment of $60m, the factory is expected to employ 200 people and will be operational next year. Jointly owned by 4×4 Capital and Bain Capital Private Equity, 1440 Foods plans to renovate 200,000 square feet of office and manufacturing space and install new equipment at the site in Indiana.

Most of the company’s products will be manufactured at the new facility, which was chosen due to its central proximity to distribution points and retailers across the United States. Alexandre Médicis, Chairman of 1440 Foods, expressed excitement about the new location, emphasizing the company’s commitment to providing protein-rich snacking options to a wider audience. The company’s portfolio focuses on better-for-you snacking and sports supplement food items, including the well-known brand Pure Protein, offering a range of products such as bars, beverages, powders, and snacks.

The project in Jeffersonville is supported by $3.7m in incentive-based tax credits through the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. Products from 1440 Foods are currently sold through various channels including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Meijer, and Walgreens. Last year, the company secured investment from Bain Capital, solidifying its position in the active lifestyle nutrition market. Bain Capital, alongside existing shareholder 4×4 Capital, acquired a significant stake in the company with plans to establish 1440 Foods as a market leader.

Transitioning to the global perspective, the food and beverage industry trends are evolving towards healthier and more conscious consumer choices. As consumers prioritize well-being and sustainable practices, businesses like 1440 Foods are tapping into these trends by offering nutritious and convenient snack options. With the opening of their new facility, 1440 Foods aims to expand its reach and cater to the demands of a health-conscious market segment.
