The stores located in Bickington, Whiddon Valley, and Frankmarsh, near Barnstaple, have recently undergone a conversion. As part of this renovation, the stores have transitioned to the high-quality Spar range, which has received positive feedback from customers.
The owners of these stores, Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Bicknell, also operate a Post Office in the nearby town of Braunton. After years of calls from Appleby Westward’s new store recruitment team, Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Bicknell decided to make the move to the Spar range. “The service we were getting from Booker was not what it was,” said Lincoln, “and so we decided to make the change.”
The quality of the Spar range is outstanding, and our customers have commented positively on this change. Mr. Lincoln has spent his entire career in retail, and in 2006, he acquired Bickington Stores and the Post Office. In 2012, he and Mr. Bicknell bought Whiddon Valley Stores, followed the year after by Frankmarsh Stores.
While all three stores are modern and kept in good condition, the duo developed Bickington Stores in February of this year, adding more space for spirits and vapes, as well as swapping the gantry for cigarette drawers. Currently, Mr. Lincoln and Mr. Bicknell are evaluating options for further improvements at Frankmarsh and Whiddon Valley.
In summary, the transition to the Spar range has been seamless and has resulted in increased satisfaction from our customers. As we continue to evaluate improvements, we aim to maintain our high standards of service to our customers.
