Henderson Group reached out to CADS upon receiving a recommendation from Nielsen, the leading provider of Spaceman planogram technology in partnership with StoreSpace. Their objective was to streamline and enhance their store layout process.

Within a span of just 13 weeks, StoreSpace delivered category space changes to Henderson Group, based on thorough analysis that could be tested and demonstrated. Richard Burford, CADS’ customer success specialist, emphasizes that the StoreSpace software simplifies retail space optimization, enabling Henderson Group to make better informed planning decisions that have a positive impact on sales.

Today, StoreSpace is successfully implemented in 101 out of Henderson Group’s 105 stores. This powerful platform equips the retailer and wholesaler with the necessary data and tools to strategically plan and analyze their retail space. Moreover, they can identify areas for improvement, such as categories with excessive or insufficient space allocation.

Ever since its implementation, StoreSpace has empowered Henderson Group to efficiently modify store layouts while gaining valuable performance insights. This in turn has helped them understand which actions have driven sales and profitability. Terence O’Hagan, the retail category development manager at Henderson Group, affirms, “StoreSpace is a great tool for Henderson Group and convenience retail chains alike, facilitating quicker, faster, and better decision-making. It is influencing what happens in our stores and enabling us to optimize sales by flexing various categories.”

In addition to boosting profitability, StoreSpace has greatly enhanced collaboration and efficiency within the Henderson Group team. “Decisions are now based on accurate floor plans, with our architectural design team, macro space planning, retail services, and project managers all relying on the same information for decision-making,” adds O’Hagan.

Moving forward, CADS and Henderson Group will continue working together to roll out StoreSpace in over 400 of their independent stores in the coming years.
