With over 35 years of experience in the food retail sector, Frank McCarron has played an instrumental role in building numerous successful businesses. Previously, he served as a senior regional business manager with Scotmid and as an area manager with Botterill’s convenience stores.

CJ Lang, a prominent company in the industry, has recently welcomed McCarron as their new company-owned stores director. This strategic appointment aims to elevate their store division to new heights. Colin McLean, the chief executive of CJ Lang, expressed his delight in the addition of McCarron to their team, emphasizing his skills and extensive experience.

McCarron himself shared his enthusiasm for joining CJ Lang as the company-owned stores director in January 2024. He acknowledged that the recent acquisition of nine new stores from ScotFresh signifies another exciting chapter in the company’s remarkable journey in recent years. McCarron is eager to contribute to the continued success of CJ Lang.

As part of this transition, McCarron replaces Steve Irons, who held the position for two years but departed on 13 October to pursue new opportunities. CJ Lang currently operates 113 Spar company-owned stores, including the recently acquired ScotFresh chain, solidifying their position as a key player in the market.
