Bobby’s Foods, established in 1972, has experienced remarkable growth and now proudly serves over 22,000 independent retailers nationwide, including 500 retailers in Northern Ireland. This recent addition of a new depot marks a significant milestone for Bobby’s, as it strengthens its relationship with retailers and provides them with a wider range of retail opportunities. This move aims to bridge the gap between their products and the local market, offering Northern Ireland retailers the same benefits currently enjoyed by customers nationwide.
Renowned for its ongoing promotions, new product development (NPD), and a selection of core lines, Bobby’s Foods is committed to delivering these advantages to Northern Ireland retailers. The opening of the Belfast depot, led by Glyn Roberts, chief executive of Retail NI, represents Bobby’s Foods’ 12th depot in the UK. Notable figures in attendance at the event included John Lucas, national sales manager; Shaun Spendlow, regional manager; and Peter Aikman, Northern Ireland development manager, along with the broader Northern Ireland sales team.
John Lucas reflected on the occasion, stating, “Over the past four years, our teams have made remarkable progress in supplying retailers across Northern Ireland.” He acknowledged the invaluable support and guidance from The Tommy, Terry Maxwell, and family in Crumlin, without whom this success would not have been possible. Starting in 2019 with a small corner in their warehouse, Bobby’s Foods expanded to a larger building across the courtyard 18 months later.
