Nestlé introduces Maggi’s first meat extender, expanding its cost-effective food options

Nestlé expands its affordable food range with Maggi's first meat extender

Nestlé’s ongoing commitment to providing affordable and nutritious food and beverage options has resulted in the development of Maggi Rindecarne – a plant-based meat alternative made from a blend of soy and spices. This innovative product allows consumers to create dishes that combine both meat and plant-based proteins, effectively doubling the serving size at a reasonable cost.

By incorporating Maggi Rindecarne into minced meat recipes, consumers can maintain the dish’s nutritional value while still enjoying the delicious taste they love. This versatile ingredient can be used in a variety of dishes that typically call for minced meat, making it a convenient and customizable option for home cooks. Currently available in Chile, Maggi’s first meat extender product is sure to impress.

Swen Rabe, head of Nestlé’s product and technology center for food, explains the rationale behind this new product: “Our team of experts and chefs have crafted a solution that provides a comparable amount of protein in a cost-effective manner for consumers in Latin America. Our innovation ensures that the taste and texture of minced meat remain consistent, all while being shelf-stable and easy to use.”

This latest offering from Nestlé builds on the company’s commitment to blending animal and plant-based ingredients to create nutritious, affordable, and sustainable food solutions. Following the successful pilot launch of a shelf-stable, plant-based protein blend in 2022, Nestlé has developed a nutritious beverage option for Central and West Africa, combining milk with locally sourced soy.

Nestlé’s dedication to expanding its food range is evident in recent releases such as the affordable Maggi Soya Chunks and Maggi Veg. These meat-alternative products cater to the changing dietary preferences of consumers, providing them with healthy and delicious options. In this way, Nestlé continues to lead the way in offering innovative food solutions that prioritize nutrition, affordability, and sustainability.
