With over 300 Nisa stores signed up to the Too Good To Go app, the latest figures indicate a saving of 375 tonnes of Co2e, making a significant impact in the fight against food waste.
Through the free app, Nisa stores are actively preventing Magic Bags of food from being thrown away, saving between 1,200-1,300 meals every week. As a useful tool, the app not only reduces the amount of food waste in store, but it also offers cut-price products to the community at a time when the cost of living is a concern for many across the UK.
Ian Bacon, regional retail manager at Nisa, commented, “Every Nisa store that has so far partnered with Too Good To Go have given positive feedback about how simple the app is to use and the impact on the local community. We are all very aware of the cost-of-living crisis, and the Too Good To Go app is one way that Nisa retailers can offer support to their shoppers really effectively.”
Sophie Trueman, country director UK/IE, added, “Since partnering with Nisa in 2019, their commitment and active involvement have made them a valuable partner in our mission to reduce food waste. The Nisa team has consistently demonstrated their dedication, enthusiasm, and provided invaluable support. Together, we have successfully saved 150,000 meals to date, a significant achievement in our efforts to reduce food waste.”
It’s apparent that Nisa and Too Good To Go share a commitment to sustainability, and with Nisa’s continued support, they look forward to making an even greater impact.
