Iberian Premium Fruits has finalized the acquisition of The Natural Hand, another prominent Spanish fruit and vegetable company, for an undisclosed amount.
Through this strategic move, Iberian Premium Fruits asserts that the acquisition “consolidates its position as leader in the premium fruit sector in Spain and Europe.”
Located in Albal, Valencia, The Natural Hand is renowned for its “premium quality” persimmons and citrus fruits.
This acquisition enables Iberian Premium Fruits, based in Chilches near Malaga, to extend its market presence, particularly in Asia, where The Natural Hand has been exporting since 2013.
With the addition of The Natural Hand, Iberian Premium Fruits anticipates expanding its farmland to over 1,200 hectares spanning Spain and South Africa, boasting a diverse portfolio of more than 25 varieties of oranges, clementines, persimmons, and more.
Moreover, the company foresees a significant growth of 15% for the 2024/2025 campaign, projecting a turnover of €200 million ($208.1 million) due to this new integration.
Iberian Premium Fruits, which was established in April 2023 following the merger of Llusar and Torres in 2021, aims to “become the largest European leader in the production and distribution of premium oranges and mandarins.”
Its CEO, Xavi Nolla, emphasized, “In our group, we work to ensure that the freshness, quality, and unique flavor of our oranges, clementines, and other fruits serve as our differentiating seal and competitive advantage in the sector.”
The Natural Hand’s director, Juan Carlos Martínez, views the integration into the Iberian Premium Group as “the boost that the company needed to multiply its growth exponentially.”
Under its new ownership, The Natural Hand is relocating to new facilities in Alcácer, Valencia, which span 14,000 square meters, effectively tripling its production capacity.
This expansion complements Iberian Premium Fruits’ existing 89,000 square meters of facilities spread across various locations in Castellón and Valencia.
In June 2023, the company broadened its portfolio by acquiring V-ROS, a specialist in clementines with leaves.
