Heinz is introducing a 100% recyclable cap for its Heinz Tomato Ketchup squeezy bottles, enabling the entire bottle, including the cap, to be effortlessly recycled through regular kerbside collection. The new recyclable caps bear the inscription “100% recyclable”, which makes them easily identifiable. This initiative aims to redirect a substantial 300 million plastic caps from ending up in landfills annually.
According to Jojo de Noronha, president of Kraft Heinz Northern Europe, the company understands the concerns of its customers regarding the environment and is equally committed to implementing sustainable practices. Hence, Heinz is delighted to announce the introduction of its innovative and environmentally friendly caps on Heinz Tomato Ketchup bottles throughout the United Kingdom. While seemingly insignificant, this small change empowers Heinz aficionados nationwide to recycle their entire squeezy bottle at one go—a small action that holds significant potential for making a positive impact.
Commencing in August, these caps will be phased in across the UK for all 400ml and larger top-down bottles of Heinz Tomato Ketchup, including the 50% Less Sugar and Salt variants.
