The new Co-op store in Brixworth is an impressive 5,000 sq ft, making it more than double the size of the previous Hunters Way location. This expansion not only provides a larger and more convenient shopping space for the community, but it also supports 25 local jobs. With an emphasis on accessibility, the store will be open from 7am to 10pm daily, with limited hours on Sundays. Additionally, the store will offer a range of amenities such as a free ATM, an in-store bakery, a Costa coffee dispenser, and hot food options.

In addition to the store’s improvements, the Post Office will also be relocating to the new Northampton Road location. This move further enhances the convenience and accessibility for customers.

As a co-operative, Co-op values its members and offers them additional benefits. Membership unlocks personalized offers and provides member price benefits, helping members save more on their purchases. Furthermore, Co-op’s Membership program includes a funding boost for community organizations. For every pound spent on Co-op branded products, members receive 2p added to their own personal membership account balance. Co-op then donates an equivalent amount to support local causes and community organizations. By simply shopping at Co-op, members can make a difference in their community.

Currently, Brixworth’s Co-op store is supporting several community causes including Sunny Socks Nursery School, Brixworth Wombles (a community litter picking group), and Brixworth First Responders. By shopping at the new store, customers are not only benefiting from the improved range of products but also contributing to the support of these important local causes.

Speaking about the new store, Steve Littlewood, Co-op store manager, shared his excitement, saying, “We have had a great response – it is very exciting to launch Co-op’s newest store. Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we are really looking forward to welcoming Members and customers into their new and improved store. We have worked to develop the range, choice, and added services to create a compelling offer to serve our community, conveniently.”

Furthermore, the new Co-op store in Brixworth also considers sustainability. Not only does the store offer an enhanced and improved range of fresh and healthy products, meal ideas, and everyday essentials, but it also provides options for food-to-go, Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers, and award-winning wines. In addition, the store offers a variety of ready meals, pizzas, and free-from, vegan, and plant-based products. Co-op’s exclusive vegan range, GRO, is also available at the store.

To further promote environmental consciousness, the store includes a soft plastic recycling unit. This facility allows the community to recycle “soft plastics,” including crisp packets, bread bags, ready meal lids, yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers, and pet food pouches. Notably, all of Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable, either through local authority kerbside collections or the store’s in-store soft plastic recycling unit.

With its expanded size, enhanced product offerings, commitment to local causes, and dedication to sustainability, Brixworth’s new Co-op store is truly at the forefront of serving and supporting the community.
