American Packaging Corporation (APC), a recognized innovator in flexible packaging, has launched APC FlexCube, a preformed pouch with a cuboid profile that helps brands use packaging, transportation and retail shelf space more effectively. Its distinctive geometric structure delivers a bold presentation for larger-volume products while increasing the product-to-package ratio and minimizing unnecessary headspace.

APC will present APC FlexCube at its Lounge & Learn hospitality and educational event on Monday, October 19, and Tuesday, October 20, alongside PACK EXPO International 2026. The two-day program will examine key trends influencing the flexible packaging market and highlight solutions developed to improve package performance, consumer convenience and progress toward brand sustainability targets.

APC FlexCube is available in a wide variety of material structures, including selections from American Packaging Corporation’s RE® Sustainable Packaging portfolio. These offerings include post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and design-for-recyclability alternatives, allowing brands to balance barrier protection, visual appeal and material choices according to product needs and environmental objectives.

Key benefits of APC FlexCube may include:

Versatile material options: Conventional and sustainability-oriented structures can be customized for barrier properties, appearance and end-use performance. PCR-containing formats may reduce dependence on virgin plastic and help support source-reduction initiatives.

Greater product density: The cuboid configuration can accommodate products with less headspace than rigid packaging and many conventional flexible pouch designs.

Streamlined logistics: Before filling, APC FlexCube ships in a flat format and can be packed efficiently into secondary packaging after filling. This may reduce unused space as well as carton and transportation needs.

Lower material consumption: Based on the application, the space-efficient design may require 30–40% less material than conventional flexible packaging formats.

Sustainability benefits: When compared with selected rigid packaging formats, APC FlexCube can contribute to source reduction, increase the product-to-package ratio and help decrease the package’s carbon footprint.

Enhanced retail visibility: Its stable cuboid construction makes effective use of shelf space and provides expansive, billboard-style surfaces for brand graphics and product information.

Flexible applications and sizes: APC FlexCube offers an alternative to rigid tubs, jars and jugs, along with traditional stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags. Potential applications include pet food, lawn & garden products, wellness & nutrition, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, coffee, cereal, baking and confectionary ingredients, and a range of grocery products.

“APC FlexCube demonstrates how innovative package engineering can create tremendous value by delivering more efficient use of space and volume,” said Seth Holmen, Vice President, Research & Development at American Packaging Corporation. “Its resourceful geometry gives brands a compelling shelf presence while helping them reduce headspace, optimize material use and pursue packaging solutions that support their sustainability objectives.”
