According to industry data provided by Asahi, the 2015 Rugby World Cup held in England resulted in a significant increase in beer sales, with a 4% boost in value growth compared to the previous year.

Beer emerges as the top choice of beverage among rugby fans, with 60% of them selecting this refreshing drink. Among the beer options, lager stands out as the most popular beer type, as identified by BrandTrack Q2 2022 research.

Parfetts, a leading wholesaler, has strategically loaded its trade week with beer offers, aiming to help retailers maximize their margins. They offer an extensive range of beers, catering to diverse preferences and spanning from premium lagers to local craft ales. Additionally, Parfetts provides various pack sizes, including convenient ready-to-drink options and larger sizes for enjoying at home.

Taking advantage of this sporting event, Jamie Ferguson, head of marketing at Parfetts, emphasizes the tremendous opportunities it presents for retailers. Rugby World Cup is expected to drive increased Beverage, Wine, and Spirits (BWS) sales, with a particular focus on beers. Recognizing the significance of chilled, ready-to-drink beers for convenience, Parfetts offers a wide range of options at competitive prices ahead of industry standards.

As over 70% of rugby fans plan to watch the games at home, ensuring sufficient stock of popular brands becomes imperative. Parfetts has secured fantastic promotional offers on a wider range of beers, boasting the largest Purchase Order Retail (POR) of Asahi at an exceptional 42.5% (12x620ml).

To provide further value to retailers, Parfetts has included enticing offers such as Stella Pints at 26.1% POR, Desperado 3x330ml at 28% POR, and Carling 10x440ml at 30.7% POR.
