Nescafé Unveils New KitKat White Flavor Latte and Lion Flavor Mocha Frothy Coffees. Food and Beverage Business

Nestlé is expanding its Nescafé portfolio with the introduction of two new frothy coffee flavors inspired by confectionery: KitKat White Flavour Latte and Nescafé Lion Flavour Mocha.

These new offerings aim to capture the distinctive tastes of KitKat and Lion bars, combined with the classic flavor of Nescafé coffee. Ingrid Hayes, the marketing director for Nescafé in the UK and Ireland, mentioned that these confectionery-inspired products have ranked among the “most successful new product development in recent years.”

This launch coincides with the growing trend of barista-style coffee consumption at home. Recent data from the British Coffee Association reveals that approximately 98 million cups of coffee are consumed daily in the UK, with about 80% of households opting for instant coffee as their go-to choice for at-home preparation.

The release of these two products follows a substantial investment of £28 million into Nescafé’s Dalston facility in Cumbria, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of its instant coffee sachet production. This investment involved the establishment of a new mixing plant and the implementation of two state-of-the-art packing lines, which can generate up to 60,000 frothy coffee sachets every hour.

Ian Pipes, the factory manager at Dalston, remarked, “The investment last year has enabled advances in manufacturing processes, demonstrating our commitment to UK manufacturing.”

He added, “It’s improved efficiency and increased output, as well as enhancing recyclability. Together, these improvements are helping Nestlé meet consumer demand while making progress with our sustainability goals.”

The introduction of these products signifies a significant step in Nestlé’s strategy to foster growth through innovation, collaborative branding, and continued investment in manufacturing within the UK.
