Hilltop Food Group has appointed Tom Delaney as its new chief executive officer, marking a significant leadership change in the food and beverage industry.
Delaney, who joined the organization in 2024, will lead the honey manufacturer into new growth phases.
An experienced FMCG commercial leader, he has held positions at Tesco and Typhoo Tea and has served as Hilltop’s sales director for the past 18 months. His background aligns well with current food manufacturing trends.
Meanwhile, Scott Davies, the company’s founder since 2011, will transition to the role of executive chairman. In this capacity, he will provide strategic oversight while remaining actively involved as the owner.
This leadership transition coincides with Hilltop Food Group’s ambitious plans for growth through product development (NPD), enhanced service capabilities, and international expansion. The goal is to elevate the business from £50 million to £100 million in turnover.
At the end of last year, the company expanded its capabilities at its Newton site in Wales. New lines for pie fillings, meat accompaniments, sauces and condiments, and peanut butter are now operational.
Commenting on his appointment, the incoming CEO stated: “It’s a huge privilege to lead Hilltop Food Group at such an exciting moment for the business. Having worked closely with Scott and the team, I’ve seen first-hand the strength of the brand, the ambitious growth plans and the passion for bringing great-tasting products to more households in the UK and beyond.”
“Together, we’re focused on unlocking the next chapter of growth and doubling the size of the business, while staying true to Hilltop’s roots as a founder-led, values-driven company.”
Davies remarked: “Tom brings real ambition and sharp strategic thinking to the business, backed by a proven record of delivering strong commercial performance. Since he joined, it’s been clear that he shares our vision for Hilltop Food Group’s future, and I’m confident that under his leadership, the company is exceptionally well positioned to continue its growth journey.”
In other developments, The Compleat Food Group has made a senior appointment with a new technical officer joining the team, reflecting ongoing trends in food processing technology and innovation.
