Food 7 Cymru is a newly established network specifically created to advocate for the interests of the food and drink sector to the Welsh Government. Our primary objective is to foster sustainable development, investment, and growth within this industry, while also actively supporting the creation of employment opportunities. To achieve these goals, we collaborate with prominent associations such as the Association of Convenience Stores, Welsh Retail Consortium, National Farmers Union Cymru, Farmer’s Union of Wales, Logistics UK, Food and Drink Federation Cymru, and UKHospitality Cymru.
Recognizing the significance of our mission to promote the entire food industry supply chain, First Minister Mark Drakeford MS has expressed his appreciation for the establishment of this network. In particular, our aim is to ensure the prosperity of the food and drink sector from farm-to-fork.
James Lowman, the CEO of the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS), commended the network’s formation. He emphasized the pivotal role that convenience stores play within Welsh communities, offering essential services to customers and providing a reliable source of employment for numerous individuals. Joining this influential network allows us to champion the fundamental contributions that the food and drink sector makes to both the local economy and communities throughout Wales.
