BOPP films have emerged as a cornerstone in flexible packaging solutions, particularly in the food and drink sector. Recent innovations in film design have broadened their beneficial properties for a more diverse range of applications. In light of these advancements—and to meet the specifications of the new EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR)—TPL has expanded its offerings to include BOPP films. The product line now features not only standard film types but also specialized options, such as a comprehensive ultra-high barrier portfolio, select heat-resistant films, and low-density matt films.

BOPP films are celebrated for their superior moisture barrier and sealing characteristics, along with high gloss, transparency, printability, and tensile strength. Furthermore, these films can be tailored through various enhancements. TPL now boasts an extensive inventory of both transparent and metallized BOPP films in multiple widths and thicknesses. Ultra-high barrier films, heat-resistant varieties, and low-density matt films are readily available, while additional BOPP film options can be provided upon request.

Mono-BOPP packaging for improved recyclability

The new BOPP films from TPL can assist businesses in achieving their sustainability objectives while adhering to the EU’s recent PPWR legislation, which was implemented in February. As the demand for recyclability in flexible packaging rises, it poses challenges for the industry. By utilizing specialized BOPP films, including ultra-high barrier and heat-resistant variants, companies can create monomaterial packaging solutions that enhance recyclability.

In addition to a broad product portfolio, TPL offers technical support for application development and material selection, ensuring that businesses remain compliant with evolving regulations in food and drink sustainable packaging.

Ralf Meyer, COO of TPL, states: “With the expansion of our BOPP film range, we are completing our existing portfolio and helping our customers find the ideal packaging solution in a rapidly changing market. This move positions TPL as a one-stop-shop for all types of flexible films.”
