Introducing Bellamie, a new premium cherry liqueur apéritif now available for the UK trade. This exquisite liqueur brings the elegant tradition of French apéritif to bars and restaurants across the UK.
Bellamie is crafted exclusively with real fruits and natural ingredients sourced in Kent. Importantly, it contains no artificial colouring or flavouring agents. As a result, it’s perfect for sipping over ice, mixing into a refreshing spritz, or exploring more adventurous cocktails like a delightful sour cherry negroni. Its bold cherry flavour distinctly sets it apart from existing citrus or bitter options on the market.
Translating to “beautiful friend,” Bellamie represents a contemporary interpretation of the French ‘Guignolet’ liqueur. This traditional cherry spirit originated in the 17th century within the Anjou region of France.
At its core, Bellamie celebrates the cherry tree. Utilizing a meticulous process of maceration and blending, it incorporates the cherry tree’s blossoms, fruit, and stones, enriched with cognac, sugar, and roasted apricot stones.
Visually striking, Bellamie boasts a deep ruby color with hints of violet. Its aromatic profile includes notes of hawthorn berry, red apple, marmalade, nutmeg, cinnamon, plum, blackcurrant, and an unmistakable cherry essence. On the palate, you’ll discover a harmony of redcurrant, blackberry, raspberry, and marzipan. This delightful fusion of sour cherries and sweet spices allows Bellamie to transition seamlessly from day to night and across various seasons. Additionally, its lower ABV (18%) makes it an appealing alternative to stronger spirits for the modern discerning drinker.
Marie Voirin, the founder of Bellamie, shared that her passion for apéritif culture inspired the creation of this unique product. It captures the essence of French conviviality, aiming to bring people together.
“Bellamie offers something new to the UK trade,” Voirin noted. “It is an aperitif made without colouring or flavouring agents, featuring a bright, vibrant cherry flavour with a marzipan and baking spice finish—completely different from the citrus and bitter options currently available. The perfume-like luxury packaging of Bellamie is designed to make a statement and elevate any back bar.”
“Best enjoyed alongside salty treats and great company—I can’t wait to hear what the UK trade thinks.”
