Two industry leaders, Amcor and IMA Ilapak, are collaborating to showcase their versatile and sustainable packaging solutions for the food industry at Interpack 2023. The event promises to be a transformative gathering for the food packaging industry, as companies struggle to keep up with consumer demand for sustainable packaging solutions.
IMA Ilapak will highlight its world-first Delta OF-360 X machine, which can run any packaging material, from laminates to recyclable mono-polymer films. This machine addresses the critical need for manufacturers and packers to switch easily between different substrates at a time when the future of sustainable packaging is uncertain.
The Delta OF-360 X machine’s innovations include Amcor’s AmPrima film, a recyclable packaging solution for dairy products. AmPrima is a lightweight, flexible, and durable packaging solution ideal for dairy products, with elevated barrier properties that ensure freshness and quality. What’s more, it’s designed to be recyclable today, certified by the cyclos-HTP institute, and meets most European countries’ PE or PP recycling streams.
With AmPrima, dairy brands can reduce their environmental impact with ease. One Amcor dairy customer was able to lower their packaging’s carbon footprint by 41% and water consumption by 11%, equivalent to turning off 1,640 10-minute showers.
The AmPrima packaging range is compliant with CEFLEX’s design for circularity guidelines for PE recycling streams. Amcor’s Marketing Director Dairy, Yi Jiang, emphasized the collaborative effort with IMA Ilapak to help manufacturers and packers meet their production efficiency goals and promote consumer demands for sustainable packaging.
