SUSTAINABLE packaging partner Go-Pak Group has appointed Bethan Edwards as head of foodservice for the UK and Ireland. In this role, she will oversee the company’s network of commercial food, drink, and catering distributors, enhancing its position in the food and drink sustainable packaging market.
Recognized for her expertise in new product development (NPD) and account management, Bethan effectively merges strategic insight with a creative approach to launch innovative, sustainable products for the food and drink packaging sector.
Prior to joining Go-Pak, Bethan accumulated substantial experience at Vegware, starting as regional sales manager (South UK) and later advancing to head of national accounts. In her elevated position, she led the team responsible for Vegware’s account management across the UK.
“I’m thrilled to join Go-Pak,” Bethan stated. “As the industry grapples with what Mintel describes as a ‘greenwash hangover,’ customers increasingly demand clearer and more credible sustainability claims. Go-Pak stands out by prioritizing genuine, evidence-led solutions. I am passionate about assisting customers in navigating the landscape with clarity and trust, and I look forward to contributing fresh ideas to our product portfolio.”
In her new leadership role, Bethan will manage a six-member team dedicated to expanding Go-Pak’s innovative range of sustainable products. She aims to uphold the brand’s integrity while equipping distributors with essential tools for success.
Bethan plans to capitalize on emerging trends in the foodservice sector, such as the shift toward grab-and-go solutions, vibrant yet sustainable packaging, and innovative materials like compostable fibrous and moulded fibre options.
Additionally, she envisions enhancing product offerings in bakeries and coffee shops across the UK and Ireland. According to Mintel’s latest report, there is mounting pressure in these categories for packaging that not only performs efficiently but also showcases verifiable environmental benefits, supporting a more circular approach.
Bethan’s appointment reflects Go-Pak’s commitment to quality, cutting-edge design, and progressive sustainability. This includes opportunities to scale innovative compostable products through its Edenware brand—offering an alternative to PE-lined cups with a plant-based PLA lining that complies with EN 13432 industrial compostable standards. The company also offers Aqueous coated cups, a water-based solution that enhances the inner surface of paper cups, ensuring they are durable and leak-resistant.
Her career accomplishments, including being recognized as the Food Packaging Association’s Rising Star 2024, demonstrate her dedication to advancing the foodservice sector.
Based in Swansea, Bethan will collaborate closely with sales director John Young to reinforce Go-Pak’s market leadership in sustainable packaging solutions for the food and drink industry.
John Young remarked, “It’s a pleasure to welcome Bethan to the team. Her experience with major brands and her innovative product development approach align perfectly with Go-Pak’s growth ambitions. We are excited to enhance our market presence and deliver exceptional service to our customers throughout the UK and Ireland.”
