Siemens Financial Services, the financing division of Siemens, will introduce a structured lease-purchase scheme for eligible customers to finance the innovative FBAM-2. This agreement aims to facilitate access to advanced technology in food and drink sustainability.

The FBAM-2 signifies a leap forward in Frugalpac’s paper bottle manufacturing technology. Specifically designed as a scalable, multi-lane platform with state-of-the-art automation, the standard three-lane configuration can generate up to 14 million Frugal Bottles annually. This represents over five times the output capacity of its predecessor, the FBAM-1, addressing the growing demand for sustainable packaging in the food and drink sector.

According to Frugalpac, the carbon footprint of the Frugal Bottle is 84% lower than that of a conventional glass bottle. This substantial reduction in environmental impact positions it as a leading option for companies focusing on food and drink packaging sustainability.

Moreover, the latest bottles produced by the FBAM-2 are crafted from 100% recycled paperboard, with the weight reduced to just 71g. This reduction aligns perfectly with current consumer trends in the food and drink market, where environmentally friendly packaging is increasingly prioritized.

Malcolm Waugh, chief executive of Frugalpac, stated: “This agreement creates an even easier pathway for customers to install Frugal Bottle Assembly Machines and produce Frugal Bottles locally. That helps reduce carbon emissions and EPR costs, strengthens supply chains, and provides brands and consumers with a genuinely sustainable packaging alternative.”

Furthermore, Carolyn Newsham, account manager at Siemens Financial Services, noted: “Innovation delivers the greatest impact when businesses can access it quickly and efficiently. Through this agreement, we are helping remove a potential barrier to investment by providing financing solutions for Frugalpac’s next-generation Frugal Bottle Assembly Machine.”
