Elopak’s Board of Directors announces that CEO Thomas Körmendi has made the decision to resign, citing personal reasons related to his upcoming relocation to Denmark.

In light of this change, the Board has commenced the search for a new CEO. To facilitate a seamless transition and maintain continuity in executing the “Repackaging tomorrow” strategy, Körmendi will remain in his role until a successor is appointed. Importantly, the company’s strategic direction and priorities will continue unchanged during this period.

Chair of the Board Dag Mejdell remarks: “Under Thomas Körmendi’s leadership, Elopak has established itself as a sustainability leader within the food and drink packaging industry, significantly enhancing its market presence. Since the IPO in 2021, Elopak has evolved into a comprehensive solution provider across fresh, aseptic, and non-food segments. The company’s international footprint has expanded through successful acquisitions, particularly in the MENA and Asian markets. Recent developments, such as the launch of a state-of-the-art production facility in the United States, highlight substantial progress in our growth journey. These advancements are reflected in our financials, demonstrated by top-line growth and improved profitability.”

The Board extends its gratitude to Körmendi for his invaluable contributions to the company’s success during his tenure.

CEO Thomas Körmendi states: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to lead Elopak over this exciting and eventful period. This is a personal decision driven by a new job opportunity and a desire to relocate home to Denmark. Elopak is a fantastic company with highly competent people on a mission to offer more sustainable packaging alternatives to plastics. I have great confidence in the continued success of the company, thanks to the strong leadership team in place. I am fully committed to ensuring a smooth transition.”
