Rockwell Automation and Swiss poultry specialist, Kneuss Güggeli, have collaborated on an innovative packaging system for the food manufacturing industry. Utilizing a two-level Rockwell Automation MagneMotion intelligent conveyor system, this custom-designed solution is aimed at saving time, space, and money.

Kneuss Güggeli, a leading poultry manufacturer in Switzerland, partnered with material-handling specialist OEM, Stöcklin, to implement this space-efficient solution. The objective was to improve labor productivity in the packaging, labeling, and sorting workflow by an impressive 15%. With the introduction of the MagneMotion technology, order-picking speed has also increased from 25 to 40 packages per minute.

Max Studer, lead engineer at Stöcklin, expressed his enthusiasm for the Rockwell Automation MagneMotion system, stating, “It had to be Rockwell Automation MagneMotion. This is the only technology on the market that can do what we need it to do. It’s the only one that has the intelligence and the flexibility.” The goal was to expedite the order-picking process, optimize space utilization, and ensure worker safety.

By leveraging this advanced technology, Rockwell Automation enables customers to effectively control and adjust loads, resulting in reduced bottlenecks and increased output. The company’s commitment to industrial automation and digital transformation is evident in the successful application of the MagneMotion system.

Daniel Kneuss, CEO of Kneuss Güggeli, is extremely satisfied with the new system, as it has significantly improved efficiency, safety, and speed in fulfilling customer orders. By collaborating with Stöcklin and Rockwell Automation, the company has successfully enhanced its overall operational capabilities.

The success of the MagneMotion system has prompted Stöcklin to consider adapting and marketing the product for other customers in various industries. As Studer explains, “MagneMotion is highly adaptable and configurable. We expect to see high demand and uptake in many different types of businesses.”

In summary, the partnership between Rockwell Automation, Kneuss Güggeli, and Stöcklin has resulted in the development of a cutting-edge packaging solution for food manufacturers. The integration of the MagneMotion technology has proven to be a game-changer, improving productivity, safety, and efficiency. With plans to expand its application to other industries, this innovative system is set to revolutionize the way packages are handled and processed.
