Griddle Bakery has introduced Wholegrain Banana Pancake Bites made with regenerative flour supplied by Wildfarmed.

The new frozen bakery product will arrive at Ocado on 9 November, followed by a Tesco launch in spring 2027. Each pack, priced at £3.79 RRP, contains approximately 30 mini pancakes.

Made with Wildfarmed wholegrain flour, banana purée and eggs, the bite-sized pancakes are positioned for breakfast, snacking and convenient family eating occasions. Consumers can prepare them directly from frozen in a microwave in 25 seconds, an air fryer in three and a half minutes, or in a frying pan.

The partnership developed after Griddle and Wildfarmed both joined the Tesco Accelerator Programme last year. Their collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to developing convenient, high-quality bakery products with straightforward ingredients and more responsible agricultural practices. It also aligns with wider food and beverage industry trends, including growing interest in food and drink sustainability and transparent sourcing.

“We know our community loves pancakes, so we wanted to bring it to the table in a new and exciting way,” commented Sophie McGregor, who co-founded Griddle with Ella Harland in 2021. “These easy-to-eat bites bring a bit of extra fun, and less faff to a childhood favourite, whilst staying true to our ethos of nutritional values and kitchen cupboard ingredients. It’s a win for active lives with or without children.”

Harland explained that the relationship with Wildfarmed demonstrated the potential for both businesses to contribute to a more resilient bakery system. This includes eliminating preservatives, minimising waste, and supporting farmers and the wider supply chain. “It’s easy to think of it as a luxury, that we will always have wheat and bakery products available, but that won’t be the case if we don’t respect our agricultural system,” she added.

Griddle Bakery uses flash-freezing soon after baking to retain freshness while giving shoppers greater flexibility over when they eat the products. The approach reflects developments in food processing technology and responds to food and drink consumer trends around convenience and reduced waste.

Earlier this year, the business unveiled a brand refresh and Brioche French Toast. At the Baking Industry Awards 2026, Griddle Bakery and the new pancake product were named finalists in their respective categories. The launch also reflects wider food manufacturing trends, food distribution trends, food and drink industry innovation, food and drink regulations, food and drink packaging and food and drink marketing priorities across the sector.
